Oakland’s honky tonk revisionists are back with their third studio album, Last Saturday Night. The album features the band’s signature mix of originals and covers - some well known classics and others obscure jukebox numbers. Tracks include songs by artists as diverse as George Jones, Onie Wheeler, and Elvis Costello. The album finds vocalist Jill Rogers’s voice in fine form, as is the playing from the rest of the band - Myles Boisen (guitar), Tony Marcus (fiddle), Smilin’ Pete Garellick (bass), and the heartbeat of the band, Tim Rowe (drums). Special guests include pedal steel legend Bobby Black, and Henry Salvia on piano. The album is a collection of studio versions of material the band has been working during at their year-long residency at Oakland’s Parkway Lounge, where the band has created an exciting monthly event that showcases many Bay Area country and Americana bands.

Their original songs sit pretty in the mix – you’ll think you heard these tunes on your daddy’s stereo when you were little. Jill Rogers is a singer’s singer with a 1974 voice and a story to tell.
